What is sculpture?

Sculpture is a three-dimensional art form involving the creation of shapes by carving, modeling, or assembling materials like stone, metal, clay, or wood. It's a foundational art form that has been used for millenia to express culture, spirituality and identity. The word sculpture originates from the latin work "sculptura", derived from "sculpere", meaning "to carve". This reflects the traditional process of chiselling or shaping materials into desired forms. 

In contemporary art, sculpture has evolved beyond traditional techniques to include digital fabrication, intallations, and conceptual art.  Modern sculptures often interact with the environment, especially in public spaces, and serves as a bridge between arstistic expression and architectural design, enhancing urban landscapes and fostering human interactions and dialogues about culture.
